It seems that the extremely hacky St. Petersburg Times had to run a follow up to their previous Bull Shark story written by Will Van Sant. All they say in this story is that one of the murdering semi-retired Jimmy Buffet-wannabes' wives was a "card-carrying" PETA member and did not like her husband's murderous behavior. Apparently they ran this story to cover for the "brown journalism" of the Van Sant story where he calls sharks "man-killers." They gave this leg of the story to Shannon Colavecchio-Van Sickler, who is a much better writer than Van Sant.

Maloney, a real estate developer, said he has been shark fishing just about every weekend since last summer. He and his friends have caught 14 sharks, most of them no bigger than 300 pounds. Always, they posed for a picture with the sharks and released them back into the water.

But this time, he said, the shark died after the three-hour struggle. It wasn't intentional, he insists.

"This is the first casualty we had," he said. "We're not fishing to kill sharks. We're fishing because it's good entertainment."

This is Pulitzer quality compared to Van Sant.

The Three Stooges: Chuck Moyer, Ed Maloney, and Frank Maloney(the one with the PETA member for a wife)

Frank's wife refused to be interviewed by the St. Petersburg Times, probably because she was ashamed at her husband's Bull Shark bullshit, I don't blame her. Now she will have a lifetime to stare up at the trophy jaws her husband is sure to hang up in their living room. Do not despair, Denise Maloney, you will only have to see jaws every third week, because Frank is going to have to share them with his cousin and buddy. In the off time you can ruminate on why you married such an asshole.
