Shark Heroes Large and Small
Shark Heroes Large:

Captain Paul Watson of Sea Shepherd and Rob Stewart the Creator of Sharkwater.
Rob Steward (looking slightly emo on the right) put his life on the line , taking five years filming Sharkwater, a movie that chronicles the tragedy of the Shark Fin Soup trade and the collapse of Shark populations. Sharkwater began its wide theatrical release on November 2. Have you seen it yet?

Shark Heroes Small:
These two dudes rescued a Shark that had washed ashore off Miramar Beach, Florida on October 9. The Shark was being strangled by a plastic band. 28-year-old Chip Crafton and friend held the struggling Shark down, cut off the plastic band, and released the Shark into the surf. If you listen to the video you can see how crazed the ignorant beach jackasses are. One redneck even shouts "Kill it!" Isn't that nice? Chip Crafton was awarded Peta's Compassionate Citizen Award for saving the Shark from a fate worse than death--being torn to pieces and raped by Bush Supporters.

But reading your blog has exposed me to another side of these monsters -- a ridiculously hilarious side. Well done.
We like you.
Thanks for the link by the way.

I was just in the Galapagos and Cocos Islands diving with hammerheads. They are incredible animals, graceful and surprisingly very shy. I also met with the Sea Shepards- true ocean heroes. Poaching of sharks is occurring in both these World Heritage sites and National Parks.
We all need to realize that despite our fears, sharks are essential members of a healthy ocean ecosystem. Simultaneously, we made a film titled Sharks: Stewards of the Reef that explains the importance and the beauty of sharks, and like Sharkwater, we adress the impacts of shark finning.
Having just returned from Latin America, I can attest that it is still occurring.
Keep changing attitudes Sharky!
David
I would be interested in seeing your new film.
You keep up the good work too!
