As the Chumslickers know, sometimes we get hate mail...and because we're lazy, we love it. It allows our detractors to prove our point for us. Our case in point this time is a woman known only as Kate. She claims to be a "very good friend" of Vic Hislop. Who is Vic Hislop? Vic Hislop is a "man" who makes his unashamed living killing Sharks and promoting the killing of Sharks. He runs a Shark killing museum freakshow in Hervey Bay, Australia. In other words he lives and breathes the exploitation of Sharks and furthering their exploitation. He has most recently been in the news advancing his "belief" that Sharks are now targeting humans as prey. Does Vic really believe this? Or is he just trying to promote his nasty business. Since he is also calling for Australia to lift their ban on Great White hunting, we are going to guess that he is just trying to promote his business interests. Anyway, here are Kate's comments:

I am actually a very good frind of Vic's....He is a very interesting man and a lovely one at that. I belive that animal cruelty is not acceptable, however, in some circumstances culling needs to be allowed to create balance in the world that we are living in and that the future generations will be living in. There has to come a point when we can reach a happy medium in using all resources and this includes being able to create that balance I just spoke about!!!
Maybe the person who started this site should be a little bit more open minded and realistic about the things that are actually going on in this world. Your the type of person who wants to save all the creatures and we'll live in some fantasy land....Not going to happen. The fishing industry is taking away a sharks natural prey and yes, they are going to start attacking other species that they dont usually hunt, dolphins, whales, turtles...Humans! My opinion...Your a shallow minded arsehole, maybe you should take an interest fighting the people who torture dancing bears or the Japanese whaling!

Since Kate says that we "should take an interest fighting the people who torture dancing bears or the Japanese whaling!" We post many more posts about Whaling than we do about her pal Vic. We will drop some links to show that we already do and she doesn't know what the hell she is talking about.

I believe there is a simian-based species currently infesting this planet way out of natural proportion and 'balance'... Coincidentally the same species that Kate refers to as removing the sharks fishy food source.
Or doe we not count as we are, er, "intelligent" (and I use that word in its loosest possible sense) organisms??

I myself have met the infamous Vic Hislop in his native habitat performing under his normal and generally intolerated behaviour. He even offered to let a group of us enter his Museum of Death for free, a roadside shrine to his gross hubris and misguided and archaic career choice. I refused and much to my great appreciation, so did 3 other Australians with me. My firsthand experience is that he is an ultimately antiquated, extremely arrogant, hopelessly self-interested, highly uneducated, unreasonable redneck of the highest order. Now that Australia has adopted the word 'redneck', please do us all a favour and show the rest of the world that you know what the word actually means. File Vic's photo under that word right next to Pauline Hanson, Russ Hinze, Joh Bjelke Peterson (notice the pattern here, all Queenslanders uh hummmmm) and the odd assortment of other throwbacks that give your great country a bad name. Join the club, it's fun and it's free; your kids will love you for it.
Clam: Yeah, Australia seems to be a bit heavy with macho meatheads. But it is to be expected from a former British colony with many of the OTHER most dangerous species on it. Drunk macho Anglos don't like competing with other predators too much. He-Who-Channels-Sharky has never been to Oz...he is much too poor for that...it is too bad too, because he would like to show some of those Queenslanders what a real man is. Oh and I can probably out drink and outfight that cornhole Vic Hislop too.
