This Marine has probably been deployed numerous times and seen more things than he would have liked to. The fact that he likes to take his downtime and fish for such interesting things as this, says NOTHING of what our tax dollars "paid" for. He has no doubt done his time and accomplished his mission more than you ever will while you sit there in your chair and type meaningless PETA type propaganda. This indvidual still has a job...a meaningful job in the United States Marine Corps and earns his pay and leisure time. And why would you really even care so much about what HE is doing? Your healthcare reform bill just passed the senate...which is a bigger waste of money than catching a few tiger sharks. And hey, it opens our eyes to what is really swimming in the same waters as our kids. Suck it. And go get eaten by an 11 foot tiger shark. Yummy....Dems and libs probably taste better anyway.

It is OUR tax dollars that pays the salary of his 'meaningful' job and it is OUR tax dollars that are allowing him to overexploit OUR resources. So that clearly makes it my fucking business. I don't like it and have every right to say so, just as you have the right to lambast a political party because you don't like their policies. As for propaganda, being a product of the USMC doesn't make everything he does RIGHT, in fact in a professional military he would be considered an ambassador and be expected to behave as one, but it does make him eligible for better health care than over half of the rest of Americans.

Those 4 sharks are no more than a threat to you, him, me or your kids than the electrical toaster you are about to stick a metal fork in. I much more prefer having them in the ocean doing their very 'meaningful' job.

Hey Devil Dog Shit, BTW the most successful military outfit in US history were the AVG, civilians one and all. No sanctioned government military branch has come close to their successes. His deployments record and resultant mental disorders gives him no leeway with me nor does it give him the right to act like an utter asshole. So go shove a $30,000 screwdriver up your ass.

I've never understood why being in the military has meant giving carte blanche for acts of douchebaggery. OK, he was deployed. That's something he knew he would face when he chose to sign up, including dealing with the things he'd see during combat. Doesn't mean he gets a free pass for every wrong thing he ever does for the rest of his life. Should we be grateful he just killed a shark instead of thumping some innocent person? Not quite.
