Japan Did What?

The Japanese police have issued international arrest warrants for three Sea Shepherd activists who were part of the campaign to disrupt illegal Antarctic Japanese Whaling from December 2006 to February 2007. The three lucky activists are--Jon Batchelor and Dr. Ralph Koo of the USA and Daniel Bebawi of the U.K. The charges supposedly stem from an incident where a Japanese whaling vessel rammed the Sea Shepherd ship Robert Hunter. Of course the Japanese Whaling industry which holds an eerily strong voice in Japanese government was able to somehow twist the ramming incident to fault the victim.
“The arrest warrants against these three men will have absolutely no impact on the campaign,” said Captain Watson. “We will return to the Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary and we will resume our campaign of intervention against the illegal activities of the Japanese whaling fleet. We will not be deterred, we will not retreat and we will never surrender the lives of these defenseless whales to the outlaw whalers from Japan.”

A captain just isn't a captain, without a sweet 'stache.
The Japanese Whaling Industry is super pissed at Sea Shepherd; for the past two years their anti-whaling tactics have stopped the whalers from taking half their quota. Sea Shepherd throws stink bombs on board the whalers ships and the whalers respond with live bullets and concussion grenades, yet they want interpol to waste their time and resources going after a few hippies. This has all been documented by Animal Planet cameramen for all of you see soon on basic cable.

Fuck greenpeace. How do I send this guy a check?
Sea Shepherd's merch is pretty okay, if you don't mind looking like a trustafundian. It is on their website and is priced like you are donating them money. A beanie is like 5 buck too much, but it does help add armor plating to the hulls of their ships. They are pretty much the only marine-centered envirogroup that puts its money where its mouth is. Captain Paul was one of the original founders of Greenpeace, but they drummed him out when they found his "methods unsound" like Colonel Kurtz. There have actually been attempts on his life and he is known to get in real brawls with groups of Newfoundland Sealers. He has also been known to mace you if you come at him.
