Pravda is Either the Funniest Newspaper I Have Ever Seen or Russians Are the Dumbest People on Earth
You've probably seen this video circulating around the internets for the past four months or so.
It was claimed that this was some sort of Russian mermaid or alien, but in reality it was just the underside of a Guitarfish. A Guitarfish is freaky-looking, but it is not an alien and it certainly isn't a mermaid.

Hi, I'm a Guitarfish.
Not to be confused with a fish guitar:

So what the hell does all this have to do with Pravda and dopey Russians? Yesterday they ran with this headline: "Russian fishermen catch squeaking alien and eat it." It was all about the guitarfish "alien" in the youtube video, and in classy tabloid style, they hyped up the alien and mermaid angle. This is the funniest part:
A spokesman for the Rostov-based zoo, Alexander Lipkovich, contacted local ichthyologists and asked their opinion about the Azov alien. “They said that the fish bears resemblance to a sturgeon. It was an extremely interesting individual. I have never seen anything like this before in my whole life,” the specialist said.
What kind of ichthyologist would confuse a Sturgeon with a Guitarfish or an alien mermaid? I was going to crack jokes about how only a Russian would think every fish is a Sturgeon, but I think I'll put up this picture instead.

Is it a mermaid? An Alien? Nope. It's an album cover from a shitty band...a band I would bet Sharky's left clasper is still really popular in Russia.
Ask yourself--What kind of assholes would catch what they thought was an alien or a mermaid and eat it. Apparently Russian peasants are even more Chinese than the Chinese and even more Japanese than the Japanese.

Its BLATANTLY a Shovelnose Guitarfish .... these people need to get their head out of their ass and find something at least noteworthy, something that DOESNT have a name.
